As Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turns 60, fans from around the world have gathered outside his iconic Bandra residence, Mannat, to celebrate the milestone birthday of the man they lovingly call King Khan.
Known for redefining romance and inspiring generations with his charm and versatility, SRK’s birthday has become a global festival for his admirers. Fans have travelled from countries including Peru, Maldives, and across India to be part of the celebrations.
Fans From Across the Globe
Among the thousands of devotees, Claudia Calle and Manigret Aparicio have flown in from Peru to witness their idol’s special day. Claudia, an artist and founder of the SRK Peru Fan Club, recalls falling in love with the actor after watching “Veer Zaara” in 2004.
“After Veer Zaara, I watched all of his earlier movies like Karan Arjun, Baazigar, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Our home is a tribute to him — filled with posters, art, and love,” said Claudia.
Their devotion runs so deep that they named their house in Peru “Mannat”, inspired by Shah Rukh’s famous sea-facing mansion. The duo has also crafted 26 handmade figurines of SRK’s most iconic movie characters, from Ra.One to Jawan, as a special gift for the star.
The Legacy of King Khan
Born and raised in Delhi, Shah Rukh Khan began his acting career with television serials like “Fauji” and “Circus” before making his film debut in Raj Kanwar’s Deewana (1992).
Over the years, SRK has delivered unforgettable performances — from his anti-hero roles in Baazigar and Darr to his timeless romantic portrayals in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Dil Toh Pagal Hai.
His powerful performances in Swades and Chak De! India showcased his depth as an actor, while his recent blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan reaffirmed his superstar status.
Fan Clubs Lead the Celebrations
Fan communities like SRK Universe and Team Shah Rukh Khan have organized elaborate week-long festivities across India and abroad.
Yash Paryani, co-founder of SRK Universe, shared that their celebrations include charity drives and social initiatives:
“We’ve organized blood donation camps, distributed food outside hospitals, and screened Main Hoon Naa for underprivileged children. SRK inspires us to give back to society.”
Founded in 2013 by Muhammad Ashraf from the Maldives, SRK Universe now has over 600,000 followers on X and continues to grow as one of the largest global fan networks.
Celebrations at Mannat
Despite ongoing renovations at Mannat, the excitement remains undimmed. Fans have planned a midnight rally, banner displays, and even a drone show outside SRK’s residence.
Sudhir Kothari, head of the Chennai SRK Fan Club, said:
“We’re celebrating his entire journey as an actor. For us, age is just a number — SRK’s energy and charisma are timeless.”
Traditionally, the actor greets fans from Mannat’s balcony every year, and many are hoping to catch that iconic wave again this time.
What’s Next for SRK
Professionally, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next big release, “King”, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, and Arshad Warsi in key roles.
