Bhubaneswar: An extensive security cover is set to be implemented for President Droupadi Murmu’s five-day visit to Odisha, beginning today. She is slated to participate in the eagerly anticipated Navy Day celebrations in Puri on December 4.
Senior police officials have stated that the security measures for the President are in accordance with the Blue Book’s guidelines. Approximately 40 platoons of the police force will be mobilized, overseen by three DCPs, 15 ADCPs, and five ACPs.
The President is expected to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 5 pm, where she plans to unveil a statue of the Santali writer and educator Pandit Raghunath Murmu and visit the Adim Owar Jarpa Jaher, a revered site for the Santal community, as per her official schedule.
On Wednesday, she is scheduled to depart for Puri at 9 am to offer prayers at the Jagannath temple. She will also celebrate the 75th anniversary of Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya in Puri.
Following lunch at Raj Bhavan in Puri, she will join the Navy Day festivities at Blue Flag Beach.
The President is set to return to Bhubaneswar from Puri on Thursday morning and will be present at the 40th convocation of the Odisha University of Agricultural and Technology at approximately 11 am.
Later, she will inaugurate the Judicial Court Complex in Bhubaneswar at about 5 pm and is expected back at Raj Bhavan by 6.30 pm.
On December 6, President Murmu will engage with the inhabitants of Uparbeda village, where she was born. She will also meet with students and faculty at the Mahila Mahavidyalaya in Rairangpur.
On the final day, December 7, she will initiate the construction of the Bangiriposi-Gorumahisani, Buramara-Chakulia, and Badampahar-Kendujhargarh railway lines, a tribal research and development centre, Dandbose airport, and a sub-divisional hospital in Rairangpur.
