Ayodhya: Arun Yogiraj, who sculpted the Ram Lalla idol which has been recently installed at the newly built Ram Temple in Ayodhya, shared pictures of special equipment he used to carve the deity’s divine eyes.
“Thought of sharing this Silver hammer with the golden chisel using which I carved the divine eyes (Netronmilana) of Ram Lalla, Ayodhya,” Yogiraj wrote as he posted the picture. The image shows a silver hammer kept on an individual’s palm with a thin gold chisel beside it.

The unveiling of the murti’s eyes on January 22 left devotees spellbound with its divine allure. The idol, portraying Bhagwan Ram in his child form with a bow and arrow, was ceremoniously installed at the Ayodhya temple on January 18, preceding the Pran Pratishtha ceremony held on January 22.
The 51-inch Ram Lalla’s idol, which now sits in the ‘sanctum sanctorum’ of the newly-inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, has been carved out of an azure-coloured Krishna Shila (Black Schist) and the eyes have been chiselled from shyam shila (blue-black stone).
Arun Yogiraj was one of the three distinguished sculptors chosen by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra to carve the murti of ‘Ram Lalla.’
