BJP MP Sambit Patra launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders on Monday following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking to media, Patra labelled Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others as “traitors,” alleging that their statements were being used by Pakistani media to further anti-India narratives.
“Are these people not acting like Pakistani agents? Am I lying when I say that Rahul Gandhi and his leaders are traitors?” Patra said. “Those who break the morale of our army, who rub salt on the wounds of Indians and stand with Pakistan, will be called traitors by every Indian.”
Patra also criticised the remarks made by Congress’s Kashmir unit president, who reportedly urged against war with Pakistan. “He is joining hands in front of Pakistan. Does Pakistan even have the courage to touch India? And yet they are pleading before Pakistan. India will not forgive such people,” he said.
Turning his attention to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his minister RB Timmapur, Patra accused them of sympathising with terrorists. He condemned Timmapur’s reported statement that terrorists did not discriminate on the basis of religion during the attack. “He is falsifying facts to sympathise with terrorists and mocking the grief of bereaved families,” Patra said. He demanded that Congress expel both Siddaramaiah and Timmapur but claimed, “Congress will not do that because this is their real face.”
Patra further recalled Rahul Gandhi’s previous demand for proof of the surgical strikes, stating that “today, the statements of Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah, and Timmapur are being broadcast on Pakistani television as proof of sympathy.”
Accusing Congress leaders of weakening India’s stance against terrorism, Patra also targeted Robert Vadra, alleging he defended Pakistan immediately after the Pahalgam attack, blaming India instead.
“Pakistan considers these leaders their sympathisers. The visas of such Pakistan sympathisers should also be cancelled,” Patra concluded, warning that the Indian people would question and reject such “traitors.”
