Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today emphasised the importance of corruption-free governance and public service while distributing appointment letters to 1543 newly recruited individuals across 11 departments during the 14th Recruitment Fair held at the Bhubaneswar Railway Auditorium.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to youth employment, the CM noted that in just 18 months since assuming office, the administration has provided 39,459 government jobs, underscoring its role in building a developed state and nation.

The event saw appointments in various sectors, including 681 Physical Education Teachers and 74 Postgraduate Teachers in the School and Mass Education Department; 77 Assistant Soil Conservation Officers and 315 Soil Conservation Extension Workers in the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department; 86 Odisha Revenue Service Officers and 30 Odisha Administrative Service Officers in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department; 65 Odisha Taxation and Accounts Service Officers and 56 Odisha Financial Service Officers in the Finance Department; 105 Odisha Labour Service Officers and one Statistical Assistant in the Labour and Employees’ State Insurance Department; 12 Odisha Cooperative Service Officers and 3 Odisha Cooperative Audit Service Officers in the Cooperation Department; 18 Odisha Tourism Service Officers in the Tourism Department; 6 Odisha Police Service Officers in the Home Department; 5 Market Intelligence Officers in the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department; one Odisha Employment Service Officer in the Skill Development and Technical Education Department; and 8 Assistant Directors in the Planning and Convergence Department.

Addressing the new appointees, CM Majhi congratulated them on their hard-earned success, describing the appointment letters as symbols of their perseverance and achievement. “You have reached here through hard work and overcoming challenges,” he said. He urged them to prioritise transparency, accountability, and swift resolution of public grievances at the grassroots level. “Remain committed to staying corruption-free yourselves and ensuring the system is free of corruption. Never forget your duty and responsibility towards the public—serve with sincerity and empathy,” the CM advised.

The CM personally handed over appointment letters to one representative from each district and honoured national award-winning teachers, Basant Kumar Rana from Malkangiri district and Tarun Kumar Das from Koraput district.

Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo called upon the newly appointed sports trainers to aim for producing at least 10 Olympians from Odisha by 2036. Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida encouraged the recruits to turn dreams into firm resolutions for 2036, expressing hope that they would deliver innovative services to the state’s residents.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari reminded the appointees that from now on, the public would be their true evaluators, stating that public approval surpasses any certificate. School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond advised them to perform their duties with truthfulness, dedication, and responsibility.

The program was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, among other dignitaries. Principal Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Dr Arabinda Padhee delivered the welcome address, while Commissioner-cum-Secretary of School and Mass Education N. Thirumala Naik gave the vote of thanks.

New recruits, including Dhrupad Kumar Behera from Bolangir, Bhagyashree Swain from Cuttack, Debamrut Sahu from Jajpur, and Manisha Nayak from Ganjam, expressed gratitude to the CM for the transparent and impartial selection process.

This recruitment drive aligns with the government’s ongoing mission to empower the youth and create employment opportunities, contributing significantly to Odisha’s development goals.
