A shocking incident unfolded near Naranpur under Keonjhar Town Police limits, as unidentified attackers targeted a jewellery shop owner on Sunday evening.
The victim, Deepak Sahu, was returning home on his motorcycle carrying gold and silver ornaments worth over ₹5 lakh when five miscreants on two motorcycles began to trail him.
In an attempt to evade the pursuers, Sahu lost control and fell, leading the assailants to seize the opportunity to assault him and snatch the bag containing the ornaments from the motorcycle’s storage box. Sustaining injuries to his head and hand, Sahu was left helpless as the attackers sped away with the stolen valuables.
Local police arrived at the scene promptly, initiating an investigation and obtaining CCTV footage from a nearby hotel. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
