Odisha is gearing up for India Maritime Week 2025, with a high-level preparatory meeting convened by Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Commerce & Transport Department, Government of Odisha.
Senior officials from Paradip, Dhamra, Gopalpur, and Subarnarekha Ports, along with representatives from related departments, joined the meeting via video conferencing.
Padhee emphasized that India Maritime Week is a premier platform to showcase the state’s maritime strengths, investment potential, and policy initiatives. She highlighted Odisha’s long coastline and rich maritime heritage, positioning the state as a gateway for trade and commerce on India’s eastern seaboard.
The meeting reviewed key preparatory activities, including:

Odisha’s participation in exhibitions and thematic sessions.

Presentation of the state’s maritime initiatives and investment opportunities.

Coordination for ports, shipping lines, and allied sectors.

Preparation of sectoral reports and communication materials highlighting port-led growth.

Identification of infrastructure and policy achievements to be showcased.
Padhee stressed the importance of synergy among ports and departments, directing the creation of a comprehensive action plan with clear timelines to ensure infrastructure readiness, stakeholder participation, and investor outreach.
She noted that India Maritime Week 2025 will highlight Odisha’s existing port infrastructure and position the state as a hub for shipbuilding, coastal shipping, inland waterways, and blue economy initiatives.
Concluding the meeting, Padhee urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure Odisha’s presence at the event is impactful, well-represented, and aligned with the state’s vision for sustainable maritime growth.
