Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday extended his warm congratulations to all newly elected student representatives across colleges and universities in the state, highlighting the successful revival of campus democracy under the current administration.
In a strongly worded social media statement, CM Majhi took direct aim at the preceding administration, accusing it of deliberately suppressing student representation for political convenience.
Fulfilling Promises and Restoring Democracy
The Chief Minister emphasized that the successful conclusion of the student union elections marked the fulfillment of a key commitment made to Odisha’s youth:
”The previous government kept student union elections suspended to serve its political interests, depriving students of their democratic voice. Our government fulfilled its promise to the student community by successfully conducting the elections and restoring the spirit of democracy on campuses. Heartfelt congratulations to all the newly elected student representatives across colleges and universities in Odisha.”
Building Towards a ‘Viksit Odisha’
Expressing full confidence in the incoming student leadership, Majhi urged them to carry out their duties with utmost sincerity, transparency, and integrity.
He noted that active student union leadership plays a vital role in strengthening democratic principles within higher education institutions, ultimately contributing to the broader vision of a developed state (Viksit Odisha). Concluding his message, the Chief Minister wished all student leaders a successful tenure and a bright future.
