New York: For fans of Nickelodeon‘s Spongebob Squarepants, marine biologist Christopher Mah recently shared an image of “real life” SpongeBob Squarepants and Patrick Star.
Mah quickly spotted the resemblance between the Nickelodeon cartoon characters and a real-life yellow sponge and pink sea star found deep under the Atlantic waves.

Taken by a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration remotely operated deep-sea vehicle, the pair of sea life were spotted on an underwater mountain called Retriever Seamount, around 200 miles east of New York City and more than a mile below the Atlantic Ocean.
The two characters SpongeBob and Patrick are so different from each other, yet they remain so united. SpongeBob helps Patrick when he lands in trouble and always helps him get through it. Meanwhile, Patrick always motivates SpongeBob to do things he loves.
They fight, love, laugh and have fun together.
