Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid homage to Vietnam’s revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh during his official visit to Hanoi, reaffirming India’s commitment to deepening defence and strategic cooperation with Vietnam.
Singh’s visit focuses on strengthening maritime security, defence industry collaboration, training exchanges, and regional stability. He met Vietnamese officials to review ongoing defence projects and explore new areas of partnership under the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a five-nation diplomatic tour across Europe. In Norway, India and Norway signed agreements covering space, technology, health, and Arctic cooperation. Modi said military action alone cannot bring peace, stressing diplomacy and dialogue as essential for global stability amid conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine.
The twin visits highlight India’s balanced approach to global engagement — advancing peace through dialogue while reinforcing defence partnerships in Asia. Singh’s homage to Ho Chi Minh symbolises India’s respect for Vietnam’s historic struggle and shared vision for regional security.
Officials said both nations aim to expand cooperation in defence manufacturing and maritime domain awareness, with emphasis on joint training and technology exchange. The visit also underscores India’s Act East policy and its growing role in Indo-Pacific security frameworks.
