Passengers travelling across Odisha and beyond should check their tickets twice. East Coast Railway has revised the timings of several popular trains to ease operations and improve punctuality. The changes take effect from different dates between September 3 and October 30, 2026.
The most watched pair is the **15027/15028 Sambalpur–Gorakhpur Maurya Express**. From October 28, the 15027 will leave Sambalpur 15 minutes earlier, at 09:05 hrs instead of 09:20 hrs. It will reach Rengali at 09:28 hrs and depart at 09:30 hrs. In the return direction, the 15028 will now arrive Sambalpur at 14:50 hrs instead of 14:40 hrs, starting September 4.
The busy **Bhubaneswar–Purunakatak Intercity** pair also moves. From September 4, the 12893 will arrive Purunakatak at 17:10 hrs, ten minutes later than before. From October 28, the 12894 will leave Purunakatak at 11:15 hrs instead of 11:25 hrs, with revised halt timings at Biranarsinghpur, Boudh, Jharamunda, Puranapani, Sonepur, Narasinghgarh, Jhartarbha and Bichhupali.
Weekly services are not left out. The 18314 Bhubaneswar New–Boudh Weekly Express will reach Boudh at 10:45 hrs from September 7. The 18421 Puri–Sonepur Weekly Express will arrive Sonpur at 06:00 hrs from September 3.
