Indian Railways has extended the run of popular weekly special trains on two key routes to meet sustained passenger demand and ensure smoother summer travel.
The extensions will provide much-needed additional capacity between eastern and southern/eastern India till the end of July.
Extended Shalimar–Charlapalli Services
- Train No. 08045 Shalimar–Charlapalli Weekly Special (every Friday): Extended from 3 July 2026 to 31 July 2026.
- Train No. 08046 Charlapalli–Shalimar Weekly Special (every Saturday): Extended from 4 July 2026 to 1 August 2026.
This special train offers a comfortable mix of coaches: 2 Luggage-cum-Divyang Friendly, 4 General Second Class, 12 Sleeper, 2 AC 3-Tier, and 2 AC 2-Tier coaches.
Continuing Patna–Khurda Road Services
- Train No. 03230 Patna Jn–Khurda Road Weekly Special (every Thursday): Runs from 2 July to 30 July 2026.
- Train No. 03229 Khurda Road–Patna Jn Weekly Special (every Friday): Runs from 3 July to 31 July 2026.
This rake includes modern amenities with 1 Luggage-cum-Generator-cum-Brake Van, 1 Divyang-friendly coach, 2 General, 4 Sleeper, 7 AC 3-Tier, and 7 AC 3-Tier Economy coaches, ensuring ample berths for long-distance passengers.
