Ajay Devgn is back as Amay Patnaik. The teaser of Raid 2, a sequel to the 2018 film Raid, which saw Devgn play Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Amay Patnaik, was unveiled on Friday. The film also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, and Saurabh Shukla.

The teaser reminds viewers of how Devgn’s Amay raided the house of Saurabh Shukla’s Rameshwar Singh, only to discover black money hidden in a temple. While Singh is now in jail, Amay is onto his 75th raid, this time at the house of a powerful politician, played by Deshmukh.

In the short one-minute teaser, the intense exchange between Deshmukh and Devgn’s character promises an entertaining mix of action, suspense, and high-stakes drama in Raid 2.

Sharing the teaser, Devgn wrote on social media, “74th Raid, 4200 Crores. Iss baar baazi hogi sabse badi! (sic).”

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the first Raid, the film is set to release in cinemas on May 1. The Panorama Studios production also features Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial, among others.

Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. It is presented by T-Series. Initially scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, the film was delayed due to post-production work.

The first Raid, which starred Ileana D’Cruz, was based on a real-life income tax raid conducted in the 1980s.
