Palma: Ace tennis star Rafael Nadal became father at the age of 36 as his wife Maria Francisca Perello gave birth to a baby boy at a private clinic in Palma this weekend, delighting tennis lovers world over.
Though the couple has not made any official announcement, media reports said the they have been blessed with the much-awaited happy news.
The name of the boy is also yet to be known at this point
According to the Spanish press, the 21-time Grand Slam champion’s wife Maria Francisca Perello and her newborn are doing well. She gave birth in her 37th week of pregnancy at a private clinic on the island. Maria had to remain under observation and rest completely in the last few weeks.
In June, it was announced that Maria was pregnant following weeks of speculation. She had been regularly spotted in public wearing more loose-fitting clothes, and donned a face mask at the Champions League final.
Nadal and his wife dated for 14 years before they got married in October 2019 in Majorca. The couple have always been notoriously private, but later confirmed that they were expecting.
