Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas celebrated Karwa Chauth 2026 on Thursday, October 29, embracing Indian traditions with a personalized, DIY henna design at her Los Angeles home.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the actor offered fans a peek into her intimate festive preparations, showcasing a custom mehendi design dedicated to her husband, musician Nick Jonas, and their 4-year-old daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
’Piya Ke Naam Ki’: A Personal Touch & Traditional Hacks
Priyanka crafted a bespoke mehendi pattern that incorporated the initials of both Nick and Malti. Sharing a photograph of her henna-adorned palm, she captioned it: “DIY..Piya ke naam ki.. happy karwachauth to all those celebrating”—with “Piya ke naam ki” translating to “in the name of my beloved.”
Keeping age-old customs alive, Priyanka also tested a traditional Indian beauty trick to darken her henna stain. She shared a second picture applying chashni (sugar syrup)—a mixture commonly dabbed on dried henna to lock in moisture and deepen the stain’s color—and humorously asked her followers, “The question is will the chashni work? IYKYK.”

’My Whole World in One Frame’
Later in the day, the actor posted a heartwarming family photograph featuring Nick holding Malti Marie upon returning home. Dressed in a bright red traditional outfit with gold detailing and a matching hair accessory, Malti was captured hugging her father tightly.
Captioning the cozy living room snapshot, Priyanka wrote: “Daddy’s home! My whole world in one frame.. happy karwachauth 🤍🌙.”
Astute fans also spotted Halloween decorations in the background—including a decorative hanging skeleton alongside a framed art quote reading, “Their paths crossed like two hot wires”—highlighting how the family blends global holidays with Indian festivals.

From Mid-Air Fast Breaking to Varanasi
Priyanka has previously spoken about how Nick enthusiastically embraces Indian culture. During an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2025, she recalled a romantic Karwa Chauth memory when heavy rain and cloud cover prevented them from seeing the moon at a outdoor concert venue. To help her complete the ritual, Nick arranged a flight above the clouds so she could view the moon and break her fast.
The couple, who married in December 2018 in Jodhpur and welcomed Malti via surrogacy in January 2022, continue to raise their daughter with strong ties to Indian culture through home rituals, shloka recitations, and festive celebrations.
On the work front, Priyanka is set to star alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in SS Rajamouli’s epic time-travel adventure Varanasi, scheduled for a global theatrical release on April 7, 2027.
