She also inaugurated the IGNOU Regional Centre and Skill Centre at Rairangpur, Odisha, through a virtual ceremony.

While addressing the gathering, President Murmu emphasised that Artificial Intelligence is reshaping economies and societies worldwide. Moreover, she explained that AI is transforming education, work, access to modern services, and solutions to global challenges. For India, she described AI not only as technology but also as a tremendous opportunity for positive change.

Furthermore, she highlighted India’s approach to technology, which focuses on empowerment, inclusion, and expanding opportunities for all. She stressed that AI must bridge social, economic, and technological divides, ensuring that benefits reach marginalised communities.

In addition, President Murmu expressed happiness that students are preparing for a future full of possibilities. She urged them to use knowledge and skills to serve society, solve challenges, and empower others. She also appreciated Members of Parliament who completed AI learning modules, calling their efforts an example of leadership through learning.

Later, she underlined AI’s role in India’s growth, noting that the technology will significantly impact GDP, employment, and productivity in the coming decade. She pointed out that skills in data science, AI engineering, and analytics will be crucial for building India’s AI talent pool.

Finally, she added that the government, in collaboration with institutions, industry, and academia, is working to shape a responsible future through technology. She called for collective commitment to build a developed India and contribute to making the nation a knowledge superpower aligned with the National Education Policy.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship organised the event as part of its mission to prepare India’s workforce for an AI-driven future.
