President Droupadi Murmu fulfilled her promise to the servitors of Maa Biraja Temple in Jajpur by hosting them at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The President had assured the servitors during her February visit to the temple, where she performed ancestral rituals, that she would invite them to Delhi. On June 9, she welcomed a five-member delegation led by Debiprasad Pani, president of the servitor council.
The delegation received a warm reception inside the grand halls of Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Murmu personally met the servitors, offered them hospitality, and arranged a ceremonial feast. Jajpur Sub-Collector Tapas Ranjan Dehuri and temple trustees accompanied the group.
The servitors will remain guests at Rashtrapati Bhavan for three days, during which they will tour Delhi’s historic landmarks and cultural sites. President Murmu also extended the invitation to servitors from Puri Jagannath Temple, reinforcing her deep connection with Odisha’s spiritual traditions.
