Police investigating the Ketan Agarwal murder case revealed that the victim’s phone remained with his fiancée, Siya Goyal, for some time after his death before she handed it to his family.
Authorities are examining whether any data was deleted or tampered with during that period.
Ketan, 26, was allegedly pushed to death from a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune by Siya and her lover Chetan Chaudhary. Both remain in custody until July 3. Police recreated the crime scene with Siya, using a dummy to reconstruct the incident, and repeated the exercise with Chetan to verify the sequence of events.
Investigators also plan a gait analysis of Chetan to match his walking pattern with CCTV footage. This scientific study aims to confirm his presence at the scene and counter defence claims that the man seen tailing Siya and Ketan was not him.
Ketan and Siya had been engaged in February and were scheduled to marry in November, with families booking a Jaipur palace for Rs 17 crore and arranging private planes for guests. Reports suggest Ketan suspected Siya’s closeness to Chetan and had voiced concerns to his family before the tragedy.
Police continue to collect evidence, reconstruct events, and verify digital records as the Ketan Agarwal murder case unfolds.
