Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Somnath Temple today and described the 75th anniversary of its rebuilding as a defining moment in Bharat’s civilisational journey.
The Prime Minister said he felt blessed to be at the holy shrine on the historic day marking 75 years since the temple reopened for devotees. He shared that the divine atmosphere and the devotion of Lord Somnath’s followers filled him with emotion and energy.
Modi recalled that he was reliving the same moment India’s first President, Dr Rajendra Prasad, experienced during the inauguration of the rebuilt temple in 1951. He said the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav radiated spiritual strength and unity across the nation.
The Prime Minister observed that one could feel Bhakti in every corner of Somnath and praised the collective devotion of countless people who came together to celebrate the temple’s 75-year journey. He called the day a milestone in Bharat’s cultural and spiritual resurgence.
The visit underscored Somnath’s enduring significance as a symbol of faith and resilience, representing India’s timeless heritage and devotion.
In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister wrote:
