Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Nitin Nabin on assuming charge as the new National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), describing him as a “millennial leader” who represents a generation that has witnessed India’s economic and technological transformation.

Speaking at a ceremony held at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said the party is now in the hands of a leader who has experienced India’s journey from the era of radio broadcasts to the age of artificial intelligence.

“Nitin ji, in a way, is a millennial. He belongs to a generation that has seen significant change in India. In childhood, he heard news on the radio, and today he is well-versed in using AI,” Modi said.

Nitin Nabin Takes Over BJP Leadership

Nitin Nabin officially assumed charge as BJP national president on Tuesday after being elected unopposed during the party’s nomination process on Monday. He succeeds JP Nadda, who served as party president during a period that saw the BJP retain power at the Centre and expand its organisational footprint across several states.

Prime Minister Modi lauded the contributions of former BJP presidents Amit Shah and JP Nadda, crediting them for strengthening the party’s electoral and organisational base nationwide.

Congratulating Nabin, the Prime Minister said the new party chief would now be his “boss in party matters”, underlining the importance of organisational discipline within the BJP.

“Nitin Nabin ji is now our president. His responsibility is not limited to the BJP alone, but also extends to ensuring coordination within the **National Democratic Alliance (NDA),” Modi added.

Political Background

Nitin Nabin is a senior BJP leader and a five-time member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He has also served as a minister in the Bihar government and is known for his organisational skills and administrative experience within the party.

Party leaders expressed confidence that his leadership would help the BJP strengthen its outreach and organisational strategy ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
