Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 on Wednesday, hailing it as Asia’s largest Digital Technology Forum. He credited India’s youth, innovators, and startups for the event’s rapid growth.
“This success story has been written by India’s tech-savvy mindset, led by our youth, and propelled by our innovators and startups,” said PM Modi. He emphasized that the forum is no longer limited to mobile or telecom technologies.
Showcasing India’s Tech Leadership
PM Modi highlighted the presentations by startups on critical areas such as financial fraud prevention, quantum communication, optical communication, semiconductors, and more. He said these innovations assure that India’s digital future is in capable hands.
The Prime Minister also remarked on the dramatic reduction in mobile data costs, noting that the price of 1GB data is now lower than a cup of tea.
IMC 2025: Event Details
Organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), IMC 2025 runs from October 8 to 11 under the theme “Innovate to Transform.”
The event brings together global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and innovators. It will focus on optical communications, semiconductors, quantum communications, 6G, and fraud risk indicators. These themes reflect India’s strategic priorities in next-generation connectivity, digital sovereignty, cyber fraud prevention, and global technology leadership.
Participation and Exhibitions
IMC 2025 expects over 1.5 lakh visitors from 150+ countries, with 7,000+ global delegates and 400+ companies participating. The forum will feature 1,600+ new use-cases across areas such as 5G/6G, AI, smart mobility, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and green technology.
The event will host 100+ sessions and 800+ speakers, providing an extensive platform for knowledge sharing, innovation showcases, and networking.
