Cuttack: A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed at the Orissa high court, demanding a court-monitored probe or CBI Probe to investigate the seizure of alleged spurious Covid-19 drugs in different parts of the state.

The PIL said that the investigation of the Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch will not be fruitful.

Acting on a tip-off from the Food & Drugs Administration, Maharashtra State, the Drug Control officials on June,11 conducted a raid at a medicine wholesale godown at Kanika Chhak in the Tulasipur area of Cuttack and had seized several boxes of counterfeit medicines estimated at Rs 70 lakh including 17,000 fake Favipiravir tablets.
