A Pakistani woman residing in Bhubaneswar since 2008 has been asked to leave the city following the expiration of her long-term visa earlier this year.

Married to a local Odia resident, her visa application faced delays, prompting the Commissionerate Police to issue a formal notice for her immediate departure.

This move aligns with new governmental directives tightening regulations for Pakistani nationals in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The Odisha government has also initiated proceedings to verify the status of 12 Pakistani nationals living on long-term visas within the state and plans to issue exit notices to them.

Authorities are focused on ensuring compliance with legal residency rules amid rising concerns over national security.
