Bhubaneswar: Police seized over 20 kg of ganja near Maa Budhi Thakurani temple, Sekhpatna to Balipatna Chhak, under Balipatna police station in Bhubaneswar and arrested two peddlers in this connection.
The smugglers have been identified as Gobinda Chandra Sahoo (26), of Sekhpatna village under Balipatn police limits and Nityananda Sahoo (35) of Nuapatna village under Balipatna police limits in Bhubaneswar.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of cops of Balipatna police station conducted a raid in that area and caught red handed the two drug peddlers while they were smuggling the contraband.
Also, the police seized 22kg and 400 grams of the contraband, two mobile phones, a scooter and Rs 1000 from their possessions. During interrogation, the peddlers confessed everything before the police.
The two accused have been forwarded to the court and a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the smugglers.
