Ganjam: Over 20 students and one of the bus drivers sustained injuries after two school buses collided with each other at Sompur chhak under Hinjilicut tehsil in Ganjam district on Friday.
According to reports, the two buses were carrying school students from Kukudakhandi, Samarjholo and the nearest villages to the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hinjilicut. On the way, the two buses compete with each other to reach the school first.
At Hinjili chhak, one of the buses stopped suddenly. And another bus hit that bus from the rear. As a result, the students sitting inside sustained injuries. The injured students were admitted to the Hinjilicut Sub Divisional Hospital for treatment.
After the incident, the owner and the driver of one of the buses attacked another bus driver. And the driver was seriously injured. On intimation, police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The two drivers of the buses have been detained by the police.
