OSSSC OTET exam clash

Odisha aspirants face a major dilemma as two crucial exams — OSSSC recruitment tests for RI, Amin, and other posts, and the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) — are scheduled on June 28.

Thousands of candidates preparing for both exams now find themselves forced to choose one, sparking widespread discontent.

OTET Paper-I will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by Paper-II from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. On the same day, OSSSC will conduct its written exams for RI, ARI, ICDS Supervisor, Amin, and SFS posts. Candidates argue that appearing for both exams is impossible, and they demand immediate rescheduling to avoid losing opportunities.

Originally, OSSSC had scheduled its exams for June 20, but administrative reasons linked to the NEET exam on June 21 forced a postponement to June 28. Similarly, OTET was initially set for June 21 but was later shifted to June 28, creating the clash.

Aspirants expressed frustration, noting that repeated postponements of RI and Amin exams over the past two years have already disrupted preparation. They warned that overlapping schedules now risk further setbacks. Many candidates requested that the government and concerned boards coordinate and revise dates to safeguard their interests.

Officials from OSSSC and the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, have yet to issue an official response. Aspirants hope authorities will act quickly to resolve the scheduling conflict.
