Odisha’s para-athletics sensation, Suchitra Parida, has brought glory to the nation by securing a silver medal in the women’s F55 javelin throw at the Paris 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix.
Competing at Charlety Stadium, Parida recorded her personal best throw of 17.98 meters, showcasing resilience and determination on the global stage. Mexico’s Navarro H. MG secured gold with a record-setting 19.96-meter throw, while fellow Mexican athlete Salazar RA took bronze with a personal best of 15.66 meters.
The tournament, which commenced on June 2 and will conclude on June 5, is one of the most prestigious events in para-athletics. Parida’s achievement further solidifies her standing as a leading athlete, strengthening her path towards the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
