Bhubaneswar hosted senior representatives from BRICS member countries on Thursday evening as Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati attended a ceremonial dinner ahead of the BRICS Education Ministerial Meeting, being held under India’s BRICS Chairship.
The event brought together Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, state ministers, senior government officials, and distinguished delegates from BRICS nations, highlighting Odisha’s growing role in hosting international diplomatic and educational engagements.

Sharing details on social media platform X, Governor Kambhampati said it was a matter of pride for Odisha to host the 3rd BRICS Senior Officials’ Meeting alongside the BRICS Education Ministerial Meeting.
He noted that the gatherings provide an important platform for BRICS nations to strengthen cooperation in education, innovation, and research.
The Governor said he attended the ceremonial dinner in the presence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister, state ministers, and delegates representing BRICS member countries.

The BRICS meetings have brought policymakers and education leaders from member nations to Bhubaneswar to discuss collaboration in higher education, research, innovation, and academic partnerships.

India, Indonesia Discuss Higher Education Cooperation
On the sidelines of the 13th BRICS Education Ministers’ Meeting, Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi held a bilateral meeting with Indonesia’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, H.E. Brian Yuliarto.
During the meeting, both leaders explored opportunities to deepen cooperation in higher education through stronger institutional partnerships, expanded student and faculty exchange programmes, collaborative research, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives.
The discussions reflected the shared commitment of both countries to enhancing academic collaboration and promoting knowledge exchange under the broader framework of BRICS cooperation.
