Odisha Vigilance launched extensive searches on Thursday at seven locations associated with Assistant Engineer Malaya Kumar Nayak of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWS&S) Division, Kolnara Block, Rayagada.
The operation followed allegations that Nayak possessed disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income.
Five DSPs, six Inspectors, and supporting staff led the coordinated raids under search warrants issued by the Special Judge (Vigilance), Berhampur. Teams reached seven sites across Ganjam and Rayagada districts, including Nayak’s triple‑storeyed residence at Soundarya Nagar in Berhampur, his native house at Tholanda Bada Danda Sahi in Jagannathprasad, and relatives’ houses at Balipindi Sahi and Pankal Sahi in Buguda.
Searches also covered his in‑laws’ residence at Kamalapur in Golanandha, his rented house at Roit Colony in Rayagada, and his office chamber at Kolnara Block. Vigilance officials examined documents, property records, and valuables to assess the extent of assets accumulated by the engineer.
