Nuapada: On the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets, vigilance sleuths Tuesday conducted searches at the houses of Khariar Block Development Officer (BDO) in the district.
Separate vigilance teams have conducted simultaneous raids at different properties of BDO Narayan Sahoo in Nuapada and Bolangir district.
The anti-graft team led by 3 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 4 ASIs and other staff carried out the searches on the strength of search warrants issued Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.
Searches are carried out at following places in Nuapada and Bolangir districts.
(1) Residential house located behind Vatika Hotel, Sadar P.S. Road Bolangir.
(2) Parental house of at village Kusmel, P.S- Loisingha, Dist: Bolangir.
(3) His office chamber at Panchayat Samiti Office in Khariar.
(4) His residential Govt. Quarter located at Khariar, Dist:-Nuapada.
(5) The residential house of his relative at Bidighat under Sadar Block, Dist:-Bolangir.
Further updates:- Cash Rs.3.84 Lakh, 1 double storeyed building, Land Plots, Gold approx 400 Gms along with other assets unearthed during searches on properties linked to Narayan Sahoo.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sahoo and his family members;
1) Cash Rs.3.84 Lakh.
2) One double storeyed building at the backside of Vatika Hotel, Bolangir town.
2) Land/Plots in and around Bolangir.

i) 1 plot measuring area Ac 0.096 dec, Plot No.83, Khata No.236, Mauza-Bolangir, Bolangir town.
ii) A piece of land measuring about 2.3 Acres comprising 10 plots vide Plot No.2544, 2547, 2532, 2524, 2689, 2523, 2526, 2522, 2691 and 2702, Khata No.15, Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.
iii) A piece of land measuring about 6.5 Acres comprising 9 Plots vide Plot No.2543, 2545/3340, 2550, 2546, 2528, 2521, 2502, 2551 and 2520, Khata No.351/336, Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.
iv) 1 plot measuring area Ac 0.92 dec, Plot No.2541, 2552 and 2553, Khata No. 323 Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.
v) 1 plot measuring area Ac 0.19 dec, Plot No.2552, Khata No.323 Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
4) Gold approx 400 Gms.
5) 1 four wheeler (Hyundai Creta).
6) 2 two wheelers.
7) Bank & Insurance deposits are under verification.
