Odisha Vigilance officials have unearthed extensive assets connected to Smt. Krishna Nayak, Superintendent of Excise, Dhenkanal.
The discovery follows her interception on April 29, 2025, with ₹3 lakh in unaccounted cash.
Simultaneous searches were conducted at five locations linked to Nayak, revealing significant properties and investments, including:
- A triple-storeyed building covering approximately 4655 sq. ft. in Jagatpur, Cuttack.
- A double-storeyed building spanning 1400 sq. ft. in Kumbharpada, Puri.
- Eight high-value plots, with four in Cuttack, two in Puri, and two in Jagatsinghpur.
- Two benami four-wheelers, including a Swift Dezire and a Hyundai Santro GLS, are under verification.
Authorities are currently assessing her bank deposits and other financial investments to establish the full scope of disproportionate assets. The ongoing investigation is expected to reveal further details about potential irregularities.
This development underscores the vigilance of Odisha’s anti-corruption agencies in addressing malpractices and safeguarding public resources.
