Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi told the Assembly that Vigilance sleuths caught 20 police officers taking bribes in the last 18 months.
During the same period, authorities arrested 271 government officials across departments. Vigilance courts convicted 174 of them, sending a strong message that misconduct will not be tolerated.
Majhi revealed that 33 officials lost their jobs, while the pensions of 65 others were stopped. He stressed that the government will continue to act tough against corrupt practices and ensure accountability at every level.
The CM’s statement came in response to a question from MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, who sought details of action taken against erring officials. Majhi assured the House that Odisha’s anti-corruption drive will remain relentless and uncompromising.
