The Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, will host the Odisha Urban Conclave 2026 on August 23 at the Convention Centre Auditorium, Lok Seva Bhawan.
The conclave is designed as a Review‑cum‑Orientation programme for Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), bringing together senior administrators, planners, municipal leadership, and engineering officials. It will review ongoing interventions, identify field‑level challenges, and set strategic priorities for effective urban transformation across the state.
The programme will feature an inaugural address by the Hon’ble Housing & Urban Development Minister, followed by a presentation from the Additional Chief Secretary on governance priorities.
Key deliberations will cover ULB revenue augmentation, Town Planning Scheme SOPs, Samruddha Sahar, Urban Challenge Fund, and infrastructure projects under the Mukhyamantri Sahari Bikas Yojana (MSBY). Sessions will also focus on AMRUT 2.0 water body rejuvenation, flood mitigation, pedestrian‑friendly mobility, expansion of CRUT bus services, and welfare schemes like PM SVANidhi, shelters for the homeless, and Aahaar.
Parallel technical sessions will address used water management, Solid Waste Management compliance, and PMAY‑U 2.0 housing initiatives. The conclave will also review low‑performing ULBs to identify bottlenecks while showcasing scalable best practices from better‑performing bodies.
Officials said the conclave is envisaged as a platform to strengthen coordination, enhance institutional capacity, and ensure responsive, resilient, and financially sustainable urban governance across Odisha.
