Demonstrating a robust commitment to citizen-centric policing and technology-enabled investigations, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Central Range, Dr Satyajit Nayak, IPS, spearheaded a major outreach initiative in Jajpur, alongside a formal institutional review.
During his visit, Dr Nayak distributed 200 stolen and missing mobile phones to their rightful owners under the Jajpur Police’s special drive, “Operation Reconnect.” The recovered devices—which carry critical personal data, digital credentials, and memories—were tracked using systematic technical tracing mechanisms and thorough ownership verification.
Police noted that the campaign successfully delivered “200 phones, 200 reconnections and countless smiles,” highlighting the human dimension of modern property recovery.
Following the distribution ceremony, IGP Dr Nayak conducted a scheduled inspection of the Jajpur District Police Office (DPO) and the Reserve Office, where he was received by Superintendent of Police Yash Pratap Shrimal, IPS, and other senior officials.
Reviewing the functioning of various DPO sections, staff deployment, records, and personnel welfare measures, Dr Nayak issued strict directives to all section heads. He urged officers to foster a superior work culture, maintain institutional discipline, and ensure time-bound disposal of files with the ultimate target of achieving zero pendency.
Emphasising prompt grievance redressal, office cleanliness, and absolute professional accountability, the IGP reiterated that continuous public-police cooperation remains vital in combating cyber-enabled property thefts across the region.
