Vigilance officials on Thursday launched a massive crackdown on alleged corruption by conducting simultaneous raids at nine properties linked to Pradeep Mohanty, Deputy Commissioner of the State Transport Authority (STA) in Cuttack.
The raids were prompted by allegations that Mohanty possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The multi-location operation spanned Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, and Cuttack, demonstrating the Odisha Vigilance Directorate’s continued efforts to curb corruption within the state’s administration.
A team comprising two Additional SPs, 13 DSPs, 12 Inspectors, and 25 ASIs participated in the operation under the supervision of the Vigilance Special Judge in Bhubaneswar. The officials reportedly seized crucial documents, including passbooks and financial records.
While detailed findings are awaited, early reports suggest that the raids may have uncovered evidence of significant financial discrepancies.
