This year, under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana, the Odisha government has announced plans to provide homes to 59,093 eligible individuals.
Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik shared this update, highlighting the scheme’s focus on providing support to differently-abled individuals, the destitute, and victims of natural calamities like floods and cyclones.
Minister Naik informed that work orders for the construction of some homes have already been issued, while the remaining are in process. The department has instructed the collection of a supplementary list of beneficiaries by the end of this month to ensure no deserving individual is left out. The issuance of work orders for the remaining applicants is expected within two months.
Following the same guidelines as previous implementations, this scheme will also identify recipients of the Indira Awas Yojana to streamline housing support. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring adequate shelter for Odisha’s most vulnerable communities.
