Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj announced that 1,353 teaching positions lying vacant in state-run universities across Odisha will soon be filled under the newly implemented Odisha University Amendment Act.
To fast-track recruitment, the Minister convened a high-level meeting with Vice Chancellors and directed them to submit detailed proposals urgently. The amended Act will help streamline the recruitment process for these academic roles.
Non-Teaching Posts: Recruitment for over 2,000 non-teaching vacancies will continue under the existing rules, as no amendments have been introduced yet.
Additionally, the government is collaborating with public sector companies to enhance employment opportunities for university students, aiming to improve campus placements and career prospects.
“The Vice Chancellors have been asked to submit their requirements at the earliest,” said Minister Suraj.
