The Odisha government will credit financial assistance worth more than ₹315 crore to the bank accounts of over 4.57 lakh women beneficiaries under the Subhadra Yojana on Thursday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will formally launch the disbursement at a state-level programme scheduled at 11:00 AM at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) campus in Bhubaneswar.
The Subhadra Yojana is a flagship welfare initiative aimed at empowering women by providing direct financial support through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring transparency and timely assistance.
Support for New and Previously Excluded Beneficiaries
As part of the current phase, 1,78,398 newly enrolled women beneficiaries will receive their first instalment, marking their official inclusion under the scheme.
In addition, 2,55,265 women beneficiaries who were previously excluded from the first and second instalments will also receive their pending assistance. This move reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive coverage and equitable distribution of benefits.
Officials stated that the expanded disbursement aims to strengthen social security for women across Odisha and ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the welfare programme.
