The Odisha state government is paving the way for a greener future by focusing on 2G ethanol production and its integration into diesel fuel.
With proposals presented by Midwest Energy Company, the initiative aims to set up ethanol plants, reduce pollution, and create employment opportunities.
Blended ethanol fuel usage in boats operating on Chilika Lake was also discussed, reflecting a comprehensive approach to environmental preservation and sustainable growth.
The initiative aligns with India’s 2030 target of blending 5% ethanol in diesel.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo emphasised that the plan will enhance rural livelihoods and support farmers by utilising crop residues.
