A high-level review meeting regarding high-tension electricity lines was held today at the Lok Seva Bhavan conference hall.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, brought together key state officials, including Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, to discuss strengthening the state’s power infrastructure.
The focus was on the relocation of hazardous electricity lines and implementing necessary changes to ensure safety. Right of Way (RoW) issues were also deliberated.
Representatives from Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC), OPTCL, and the state’s four electricity distribution companies shared their perspectives during the meeting.
Fly ash control measures in districts like Jharsuguda were another vital aspect covered. Comprehensive guidelines were discussed, and decisions on effective implementation will be finalised in upcoming meetings.
Senior officials, including Shakti Department Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev and CMD of OPTCL Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, emphasised the importance of a coordinated approach to these challenges.
