The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for multiple coastal districts in Odisha, cautioning residents about the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions.
According to the latest forecast, districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati will experience elevated temperatures and high humidity levels over the next four days.
Despite predictions of light to moderate rain and occasional thundershowers in some areas, no specific warning for thunderstorms has been issued by the IMD. The advisory urges residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses and stay hydrated during this period of extreme weather.
The IMD forecasts similar conditions to persist until June 6, with little relief expected from the oppressive heat. Citizens are advised to avoid prolonged outdoor activities during peak hours and follow safety measures to counter the effects of intense humidity.
