The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet in the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, revealing startling details that cast serious doubts on the role of the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB).
According to the chargesheet, the scam deals were finalised as early as March 2025. While OPRB was responsible for printing the question papers, investigators found that Suresh Nayak, Managing Director of Silicon Institute of Technology, manipulated the process. He allegedly printed an additional set of question papers and used them to strike a deal worth Rs 25 lakh with aspirants.
However, when the examination was suddenly cancelled in March, the entire plan collapsed. This development has raised questions about whether OPRB knowingly remained silent or was unaware of the malpractice.
The CBI has already interrogated SP Balabhadra Deep and Section Officer Gautam Behera of OPRB regarding their possible involvement.
Officials confirmed that the investigation is still underway. Moreover, they expect more shocking revelations in the coming days as the probe deepens.
