The Odisha School and Mass Education Department conducted an additional round of online student allotment through the RTE Paradarshi Portal for the academic year 2026-27 on Monday, August 31.
The additional centralised admission process was conducted to give greater emphasis to children belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disadvantaged Group (DG) under Rule 12(1)(c) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
989 applications received through RTE Paradarshi portal
The additional round of student registration on the RTE Paradarshi portal was open from August 14 to August 27, 2026.
During this period, a total of 989 student applications were received through the portal. Of these, 629 applications were verified by Block Education Officers (BEOs) and subsequently placed for the online lottery.
The online lottery was conducted at 4 pm on August 31 in the chamber of the Director of Elementary Education.
501 students allotted seats through online lottery
Following the lottery process, 501 applications were considered and seats were allotted to the eligible students through the online centralised lottery system.
The allotment is part of the state’s efforts to facilitate admission of children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections to eligible private schools under the RTE framework.
Admission process from September 1
Students who have been allotted seats through the additional lottery round can begin the admission process from September 1, 2026.
The admission process will remain open until September 19, 2026.
Parents and guardians are advised to complete the admission formalities within the stipulated deadline.
