Odisha Revs Up Road Safety: New Measures to Ensure Safer Journeys

In a significant move to enhance road safety, the Odisha government has introduced new measures to ensure safer journeys for citizens, particularly those using public transportation buses, including the popular Mo Bus service.


Key Highlights of the Meeting:

  • Implementation of Technological Solutions: IIT Madras will provide technological support to improve road safety measures.
  • Enhanced Training Programs: Training programs for drivers will be revamped to focus on safety measures and operating procedures.
  • Regular Monitoring and Evaluation: The Principal Secretary will regularly review the implementation of road safety measures and provide feedback.

Vision of the Odisha Government

The Odisha government, under the leadership of Chief Miniter Mohan Charan Majhi, is committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system for its citizens. The government’s vision is to create a sustainable and inclusive public transportation system that prioritizes the safety and comfort of its passengers.

Initiatives to Enhance Road Safety

To achieve this vision, the government has planned several initiatives, including:

  • Implementation of Intelligent Enforcement Management System (IEMS) and Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS): To manage and operate existing road networks more efficiently and effectively.
  • Project Rakshaks: To train and empower first responders, improve road safety, and reduce road accidents.

Citizens are urged to cooperate with the government’s efforts and follow traffic rules to ensure their safety and the safety of others. By working together, we can create a safer and more efficient transportation system for all.
