Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that all land transactions in the state will now be completely cashless.
He said not a single rupee will be exchanged in cash during land purchases or sales. Previously, transactions up to Rs 15,000 were allowed in cash. The minister explained that this decision aims to eliminate middlemen from registration offices and streamline the process.
Citizens will no longer need to visit registration offices repeatedly. After registration, documents will be available online, ensuring transparency and convenience. The Revenue Department will soon issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to implement the new system.
Pujari also revealed plans for a new Revenue Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. The 10-storey building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 600 crore. It will house the offices of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Fire Services, and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), along with other key departments.
