Odisha lawyer Akankhya Kabi achieved national recognition after being selected for the prestigious NLSIU Litigation Fellowship for the 2026–2028 batch, bringing pride to the state.
Akanksha, a practising lawyer at the Odisha High Court, secured her place among only 30 fellows chosen from over 1,000 applicants across India. Her selection highlights her dedication to litigation and her growing influence in the legal field.
A former student of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Akankhya has demonstrated expertise in family and criminal law. She has also earned two Presidential awards, adding to her distinguished profile. Beyond law, she is known as an international chess player and a former child artist, showcasing her diverse talents.
The NLSIU Litigation Fellowship is regarded as one of the most competitive programs in the country, designed to nurture young lawyers committed to advancing justice. Akankhya’s achievement stands as an inspiration for aspiring legal professionals in Odisha and across India.
