Odisha took a major step toward becoming a premier adventure tourism hub in Eastern India as Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida launched the Go‑Adventure portal at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

She also signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Aero Club of India (ACI).

Parida emphasised safety as the foundation of Odisha’s adventure tourism expansion. She highlighted the role of international partnerships and experience‑based travel in modernising the sector and attracting young entrepreneurs. She praised the joint efforts of the Tourism, Sports, and Home Departments in opening a new chapter in Odisha’s tourism landscape.

Chief Secretary Anu Garg underscored the state’s vision of achieving Utkarsh Odisha by 2036 and Viksit Bharat by 2047. She said adventure tourism would boost local economies, generate employment, and strengthen Odisha’s identity as a global destination. She urged stakeholders to adopt the mantra: “Think India, Think Odisha.”

Officials explained that the Go‑Adventure portal will simplify registration, verification, and licensing procedures for adventure tourism projects. The MoU with the IMF will strengthen safety audits and training for trekking and rock climbing, while the partnership with ACI will regulate aerial sports like paragliding and paramotoring under national aviation safety norms.

Licenses were formally issued to domestic water‑based adventure operators, marking a milestone in ease of doing business. Distinguished guests included Aero Club of India President Rajiv Pratap Rudy, NIWS expert Dr Pawan Gupta, and senior Odisha officials.
