Senior journalists, Resident Editors, and Bureau Chiefs from Odisha are participating in the All India Media Conference 2026, organised by the Election Commission of India (ECI) at IIIDEM, New Delhi.
The national‑level conference has brought together media leaders from across the country to deliberate on the vital role of journalism in strengthening democratic processes and promoting informed electoral participation.
This year’s theme, “Connecting Stakeholders, Strengthening Democracy: Role of Media in Elections”, underscores the importance of collaboration between media and electoral institutions. Discussions are focusing on how responsible reporting, fact‑checking, and outreach can empower citizens to make informed choices during elections.
Officials from the ECI emphasised that the media acts as a bridge between the Election Commission and the electorate, ensuring transparency and accountability in the democratic process.
