Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Thursday issued fresh guidelines for strict vigilance on crowd and gatherings in public places during 31st December and 2nd January.
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Odisha has written a letter to all Collectors, SPs, Municipal Commissioners, and Police Commissioner of Bhubaneswar- Cuttack
Keeping in mind the possible crowd and gatherings at public places on 31st December and 2nd January, the state government has decided to impose strict curbs on gatherings in public places.
The authorities concerned have been asked to conduct random checking of gatherings at public places such as picnic spots, malls, shopping complexes, hotels, clubs, restaurants, parks, convention halls, Kalyan Mandaps etc.
They have been also directed to ensure that COVID-19 safety protocols such as wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing of at least so (6) feet between persons at public places are strictly enforced.
In case of violation of COVID-19 protocols, heavy penalties will be imposed as decided by the Local Authorities, the Odisha SRC said.
