Odisha Governor, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, along with First Lady Dr. Jayasree Kambhampati, paid a visit to the famous Atri hot springs located in Khordha district.
Reflecting on his journey, the Governor recalled his visit to Taptapani hot springs alongside the Honorable President of India about two months ago. Intrigued by the natural phenomenon, he expressed a keen desire to explore the famed hot waters of Atri, leading to this scheduled visit.
During the tour, Dr. Kambhampati lauded Atri’s unique natural features and rich ecosystem, highlighting the region’s immense potential for eco-tourism. He noted that the site continuously attracts pilgrims and travelers due to the deep-rooted religious significance attached to its hot springs.
To unlock the full potential of the tourist hub, the Governor stressed the need for a collaborative roadmap involving the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, the Revenue Department, and the Tourism Department. He emphasized that joint efforts across these bodies would significantly improve infrastructure and amenities, driving footfall for both leisure tourists and spiritual pilgrims.
Dr. Kambhampati concluded that providing modern, well-maintained facilities through synchronized departmental efforts will not only elevate the site’s national profile but also generate direct economic benefits for local communities. Renowned for its natural perennial hot springs, Atri remains one of Odisha’s most cherished ecological and pilgrimage destinations.
